Shawn Slavin

Shawn Slavin serves as a senior technical advisor to the Executive Director of PTI, Craig Stewart. In that role, he provides day-to-day collaborative technical and logistical support for PTI-related projects, grant activities, workshops, papers, and presentations. Shawn's professional life at UITS has included work as a Unix specialist, HPC programmer/analyst, and systems analyst for the High-Performance Filesystems group. Away from UITS, he held a research staff position in the Extreme! Lab of IU Computer Science and spent fifteen years as a professor of astronomy and physics at Purdue University Calumet, in Hammond, IN. Shawn earned a Ph.D. in Astronomy and a B.S. in Astronomy and Astrophysics, both at Indiana University Bloomington.
